We will raise holy hell!
And here is how you can get involved: Join the Barrie Young Greens as we embark on an adventure of raising some hell to make sure that those elected in office have more than just their partisan supporters to represent.
But how will we do it?
For starters, we need to organize; but instead of having a “brick and mortar” we’ll do most of our meetings online via Google+ and all you need to participate in the meetings is a Google account and a webcam. We’ll begin by having meetings the 2nd Saturday of every month at 2pm; you can join in something awesome from the comfort of your own home!
Great, we’re organizing, but what are we gonna do? Perhaps start a BYG Noise Brigade. This group will consist of anybody who has a percussion instrument, green coloured clothing, and is able to get to any protests/marches that happen in the city of Barrie; think of it as something between a “casseroles night” and a marching band wearing the Green Party colours.
As believers in strong, vibrant communities, we believe in giving back; which is why we will be volunteering with various local charities or walk/run events.
“All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.” So we’ll make sure to just get together to have some fun (but in order to learn when/where, you’re gonna need to at least sign up for the mailing list).
So please, join us on our website (mailing list), Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ (monthly meetings) and together we’ll raise a bit of holy hell.
Until next time,
Eric Shelley,
Youth Chair, Barrie Green Party
